I have lived in UTAH all my life.
I have lived in 7 different cities within Utah- Pleasant Grove, St. George, Orem, Logan, Sandy, Salt Lake City, and Centerville.
I have lived in about 12 different houses since my childhood, college, marriage and divorce.
UTAH is where I call "home".
But not for much longer. Once Seth and I tie the knot (have I told you the date is set in December? :) we will be packing up our U-Haul and driving South on I-15, making ARIZONA our new home.

I'm the type of person who can be happy pretty much anywhere... as long as I can decorate the place and make it mine and share it with those I love, I'll be good to go!! Buuuut I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't even just a little bit nervous. I mean, starting over.... completely over.... while there's a fabulous sense of rejuvenation in it, there's also that foreign sense of the unknown, too. Getting used to new territory, new faces, and a totally new life... leaving behind my comfort zone, everything I've ever known...
Exciting AND scary :)
I'm super sad to think about leaving so many of my closest friends, but I'm so looking forward to the change. Hooray for changes! Lots are happening in our neck of the woods and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed right now... but, it's a good kind of overwhelmed... so it's all worth it :)
**WHERE DO YOU CALL HOME? Where have you lived before? Have you moved a lot?
Hope you had an amazing weekend!!!

Congratulations on your big plans!! I'm so happy and excited for you! I'm with you...change is good! Home is in Indiana for me, but two years ago we moved to Florida and it's been amazing! Venturing out of our comfort zone has been bittersweet! We miss our families a lot, but it's also rejuvenating to be so far away and on our own! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI am honestly so excited for you guys - I think it will be so good for you. However, I can't think about it too much because it just makes me sad. I'll miss you friend. I've been your visiting teacher for like FOUR years - I was always 100% with you!!! :) You can definitely count on us as visitors.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you guys! You will love the experience of living out of state. I totally loved it. It was one of my greatest experiences to live in Oregon for 2 years. Its fun to explore a totally new area and to experience the different people. What a fun adventure for you and Seth to start over with. I'm so excited for you! So do we get to hear wedding plans? Will it be a big wedding or small? Oh! What an exciting time for you! Love ya Jace!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Arizona. I miss it so, so much. Even though I've lived in Utah for the last 4.5 years and have lived here for nearly 20 of my 23 years of life, Arizona is where I call home. My parents don't even live there anymore, I have nothing there, but it's where I became me. What part are you moving to?
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you get to start with a completely clean slate in a new area. You are going to have a BEAUTIFUL life! I will have to road trip down and see you! I hope to always stay close with you.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting and scary, too! I mostly grew up in Utah (some Idaho and Michigan) and moved to northern Canada when I got married to my dashing Canadian husband. Adventures await and you'll grow and become a greater person as a result! Have loads of fun in Arizona!
ReplyDeletei know how you feel, a bit, jacy. i moved from texas almost three years ago, having lived there my whole life. it's scary to move from everything you know and love... i never thought i'd call someplace else Home. turns out, i was super wrong. Home is utah, now, and i dont know if we'll ever find a more Home-y place!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a change! I call AZ home :) Hope that you learn to love it, and perhaps we can meet sometime!
ReplyDeleteJacy!! You're getting married in December??!! I love that with all my heart cause my anniversary is in December (the 11th) and let me just tell you, Christmas month weddings are beautiful and so very romantic!! :) I'm so excited for you!! And that's so fun that you're moving! I love new adventures!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! About 2 years ago I moved from AZ to OR. I had never made a big move before, so it was quite a change, but it's been such a good growing/learning experience. And, I'm really glad I did it! I hope it goes wonderfully for you and you'll have to let me know where in AZ, I go back often to visit fam and friends! :)
ReplyDeleteWow such a big and exciting change! AZ is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGo Sun Devils!
ReplyDeleteI have lived in 4 different states and about 8 different residences from birth to present. Born in KS, lived in TX most of my childhood & adult life, with time in UT & now ID. Texas still feels the most like home to me, but this is the longest we have stayed anywhere in our married life (nearly 4 yrs) & it's strange now to ever think of leaving.
