YAY or NAY: The Epidural
Got it. Loved it. Never thought twice about it.
I'll be truthful.... many of my friends have conquered natural childbirth, and I feel a bit inadequate whenever the topic comes up. I know I shouldn't... but I do. I mean, nothing can top the whole "I did it all natural" statement. So there I sit, a sheepish weakling, with little to no tolerance for pain, and I feel sort of 'less mom' in a way- because if I was stronger or more brave, I could have and should have done it naturally.
Of course, none of my friends make me feel this... it's all me... and I'm not jealous or bitter-- I am genuinely PROUD of my pals who accomplished it-- I guess I just wish it me sometimes.
But then I think, "WHY?"
Who am I trying to please?
I had a GREAT labor and delivery the first time... and I had an epidural. So what?
I still created, carried and PUSHED A BABY OUT OF MY BODY- I just chose to avoid that burning and horrific pressure as much as possible.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
YAY or NAY on the numbing shot? Either way, tell me WHY!
P.S. This is NOT to start a mommy-war. I understand the debate, but this is just for fun and how you delivered your infant doesn't make you any more or less of a mom :)
